Emptiness on the Bodhisattva path

Explore the stages of development from an ordinary being to a Buddha, intertwined with the philosophy of the Middle Way (Madhyamaka) and its understanding of emptiness as it was taught by Nagarjuna.

This online study program will give you the opportunity for an essential and concise study of Chandrakirti’s work “Introduction to the Middle way” (Madhyamakavatara), one of the central texts on Madhyamaka philosophy.

In this course, we explore the philosophical and practical understanding of emptiness by contextualizing, summarizing and discussing the root text, its auto-commentary and other related works.

Lopön Sonam Jamtsho has a background both in traditional Tibetan Buddhist education as well as in western academic university education and Arne Schelling, your review teacher, is a German Dharma teacher with many years of experience in Buddhist study and practice. This gives us the perfect chance to look at the text from both a traditional Tibetan as well as a western perspective. There will be plenty of space for personal questions, reflections and meditation.
